About Us

Welcome to De Santis Vision Consultants!

Established by Tony De Santis in 1994, we are an independently owned optometry practice, providing distinctly professional and individually tailored eye care solutions in Epping and the wider community.

We are 100% locally owned and operated.

Originally located in Dalton Village Shopping Centre, we outgrew these premises and after 15 years relocated to larger premises which we currently occupy across the road. More space has enabled us to provide greater patient facilities: free on-site and off-street parking, more consulting rooms, greater spectacle frames and sunglasses display area, additional room to cater for the advanced diagnostic testing equipment.

Our commitment to ongoing education and the use of modern and state-of–the-art technology, ensures that you receive the benefit of our knowledge and skills.

We pride ourselves in providing a thorough and comprehensive eye assessment, which can take up to 45 mins. We take the time to get to know you and discuss your medical and ocular history, your work and lifestyle requirements and also answer any questions or concerns you have during the consultation.

Having well established associations with GPs, ophthalmologists and other allied health care professionals in the community, we ensure that you receive a holistic and comprehensive eye care assessment and our professional recommendations.

Our Optometrists

Principal Optometrist

I have been in private practice since completing my Bachelor of Optometry at Melbourne University in 1988, mainly in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. I have an interest in all facets of optometry, including: contact lenses (disposable, extended wear and custom made); diabetic ocular exams; macular checks; cataracts and glaucoma checks; laser surgery correction.

To help with the diagnosis of various ocular conditions, I am committed to keeping up to date with the latest medical technology and ensuring the practice is equipped accordingly.

  • Member of Optometry Australia and Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia.

Optometrist

I completed my studies in Optometry at the University of Melbourne in 1992. As a new graduate in 1993 I initially worked in the northern suburbs, along with Tony De Santis, for about a year. For the next 10 years I practiced optometry in Doncaster and Preston, before joining De Santis Vision Consultants in 2005.

I have always been intrigued by eyes and how they work.

I enjoy all aspects of optometry and I am committed to providing patients with the best vision care possible.

Optometrist

I completed my Optometry degree in 1994, graduating from the University of Melbourne.

After working in country Victoria for 17 years as an Optometrist, I moved back to Melbourne in 2012 to be closer to family and then joined the team at De Santis Vision Consultants soon after.

I practice full scope optometry, managing and treating ocular conditions for people of all ages.

I like problem solving, talking to and helping people, so Optometry was a great fit for me. I have been involved in overseas work in Vietnam and had the opportunity to exchange knowledge with optometrists in Mexico.

  • Member of Optometry Australia and Fellow of Australian College of Optometry
  • Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, La Trobe University

Community Involvement

Our practice has always been active in the local and wider community.

Over the years we have made financial donations to local schools and sporting clubs; held information booths at the Whittlesea Show; conducted free kindergarten vision screenings; raised funds for Diabetes Victoria, National Vision Research Institute, Optometry Giving Sight; and partnered with Essilor Vision Foundation in providing eye tests and free spectacles to local primary school children.

We also have an ongoing collection of preloved frames which are forwarded to the Lions Club, church missions and humanitarian groups in third world countries, to be given to those in need.
